Expansion adds hurricane-rated indoor boat storage and waterfront upgrades to meet rising demand on the Treasure Coast
PALM CITY, Fla., Oct. 13th, 2025 — VIP Marinas announced that expansion is underway and nearing completion at Meridian Marina, where a new 46,200-square-foot, hurricane-rated indoor storage facility will add 140 racks for boats up to 50 feet. The project reflects the company’s commitment to supporting the Treasure Coast boating community with destination-driven amenities and exceptional service.
The marina underwent major renovations after VIP Marinas purchased the facility in 2021. Early upgrades included structural improvements such as building and office rehabilitations, a dredged basin and reinforced seawall, two new boat forklifts, and the addition of a 140-boat outdoor dry-storage rack. The property also received native landscaping, an expanded paved parking lot, and other customer-focused enhancements to improve appearance and convenience.
Building on those improvements, VIP Marinas is in the final stages of the next phase of development with the addition of a new Category-5-rated indoor storage building adjacent to the rehabilitated Category-3 structure to meet growing demand for storage. Construction is scheduled for completion by January 2026. Once finished, the expansion will increase the marina’s total capacity to 540 slips, including 108,200 square feet of indoor boat storage.
Now five years into a six-and-a-half-year redevelopment plan, this immediate expansion represents the next step in the owners’ long-term vision to better serve the region’s boating community. The final phase will transform Meridian Marina into a true waterfront destination for boaters and residents, featuring dining, event space, a boat sales office, expanded marine and retail services, and upgraded restrooms and showers.

Meridian’s management team welcomed the expansion, noting it was time to grow not only to serve the community but also to ease current congestion for a better customer experience.
“The expansion will allow us to better serve our current outdoor storage customers who want to move their boats inside,” said Rick Jacobs, general manager of Meridian Marina. “In recent months, we’ve welcomed many new customers and, at times, had to temporarily place boats in the middle aisle of the existing barn. The new expansion adds 140 indoor storage racks, easing congestion and giving us the capacity to welcome more of our boating community without compromising accessibility.”
